The magnet is used on both intake and exhaust side cam.
- EA888 GEN 1 & GEN 2: 1x magnet required as variable timing only available on intake side.
- EA888 GEN 3: 2x magnets required as variable timing available on intake & exhaust.
Failed adjuster magnet could cause rough or uneven idling, misfires, stalling, poor engine performance and ultimately throwing a check engine light.
