Since 2012, VAG group released their brand new architecture MQB. It was first introduced in the Volkswagen Golf MK7 and later been used on a wide range of cars from the supermini class to the mid size SUV class.
Among the MQB platform, the plastic oil pan, found on vehicles equipped with 1.8T & 2.0T EA888.3 GEN 3 engines, is a commonly failure point. The OEM plastic pan is prone to cracking due to the high heat emitted with these engines and very easy to damage.

With MK7 Golf approaching 11 years old, leaking is very likely to develop on these cars. We strongly recommend owners to upgrade to our cast aluminum upgrade oil pan for a fraction of price. The oil pan is designed to be a direct replacement.

The oil pan is designed to replicate the OEM pan as much as possible. The honeycomb construction provides extra rigidity and weight reduction advantage. Being made with aluminium material, the oil pan not only offers great impact resistance against road elements but also acts as a huge heat sink that has superior thermal conductivity.
In our in-house testing, we can see the oil temperature drops by 2-3 degrees Celsius during daily driving on an un-tune 2015 Volkswagen Golf R MK7.
